ADVANCED PRESCHOOL – 2024-2025 – AGES 2-3 REGISTRATION FORM

Ms. Heather’s Advanced Preschool for children ages 2-3 will begin on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. The last day of the program will be Thursday, May 22, 2025. This program will be offered as a two-day or four-day option from 9:00-12:30. Morning carpool starts at 8:30. There will also be optional Toddler Play after-school classes offered from 12:30-1:30 each day. Each child will participate in developmentally appropriate activities for his or her age level. This preschool experience will emphasize growth in language and literacy, math concepts, science, social studies, arts, health and physical development, and social and emotional growth.

 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Ms. Heather’s Advanced Preschool for children ages 2-3 will begin on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. The last day of the program will be Thursday, May 22, 2025. This program will be offered as a two-day or four-day option from 9:00-12:30. Morning carpool starts at 8:30. This private program is for children ages 2-3 years old. Students must be two years old as of September 1, 2024 to participate in this class. The Registration Fee of $400 per child is a non-refundable and non-transferable fee, which reserves your child’s spot in the program. It is used to order art supplies, a class folder, school book bag, school teeshirt, a school year subscription to a bi-weekly preschool magazine, and much more! The annual tuition for the four-day program can be paid monthly in the amount of $365 for the months of September-May if all payments are made by the 1st of every month when the monthly installment is due.

The annual tuition for the two-day program can be paid monthly in the amount of $265 for the months of September-May if all payments are made by the 1st of every month when the monthly installment is due. Absences will not result in a reduction of tuition as registration is for the full school year (9 months).

Parents will be asked to pack a healthy lunch and a labeled spill-proof cup full of water only for your child daily. Parents will also be asked 2-3 times during the year to provide a large box of crackers, cereal or another healthy snack for the children to share as a mid-morning snack. Please provide extra diapers, pull-ups, and an extra outfit in your child’s book bag.

Your child will have the advantage of receiving a quality preschool education in a small nurturing Christian environment. Your child will be given priority when registering for other programs at Ms. Heather’s Educational Adventures. This year’s class will build a solid foundation for future educational experiences. The program will focus on the following preschool objectives:

Literacy Development

Obj. #1 – Children will develop skills in listening for the purpose of comprehension.
Obj. #2 – Children will learn to discriminate the sounds of language (phonological awareness – letter sounds, rhymes, poems, etc.)
Obj. #3 – Children will develop an understanding of new vocabulary introduced in conversations, activities, stories or books.
Obj. #4 – Children will develop and expand expressive language skills.
Obj. #5 – Children will begin to develop age-appropriate strategies that will assist in reading. Obj. #6 – Children will begin to develop age-appropriate writing skills.

Mathematical Development

Obj. #1 – Children will begin to develop an understanding of numbers – (counting to 30, ordinal numbers, arrange sets of objects in one-to-one correspondence, estimation, counting, sorting and naming coins, etc.).
Obj. #2 – Children will create and duplicate simple patterns.
Obj. #3 – Children will sort and classify objects.
Obj. #4 – Children will develop a sense of space (positions, directions, distances and order) and an understanding of basic geometric shapes.
Obj. #5 – Children will learn how to use a variety of non-standard and standard means of measurement.

Scientific Development

Obj. #1 – Children will use the processes of science to actively explore, investigate, observe and record changes in the environment.
Obj. #2 – Children will acquire scientific knowledge related to life science (life cycles, plants, animals, etc.). Obj. #3 – Children will acquire scientific knowledge related to physical science
Obj. #4 – Children will acquire scientific knowledge related to earth science

Social Studies Development

Obj. #1 – Children will develop an appreciation of his/her role as a member of the family, the classroom and the community.
Obj. #2 – Children will develop a respect for differences in people, geographic regions and cultures. Obj. #3 – Children will express beginning geographic thinking.

Creative Development

Obj. #1 – Children will explore and use a variety of materials to develop artistic activities. Obj. #2 – Children will develop curiosity, initiative, self-direction and persistence.

Obj. #4 – Children will develop interpersonal and social skills for relating with other members of the learning community.

Health and Physical Development
